Not legal advice

MOFRD provides legal research, organization, and reference tools. Nothing on this platform constitutes legal advice, legal representation, or an attorney-client relationship. The information presented is for educational and organizational purposes only.

No attorney-client relationship

Using MOFRD does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and MOFRD, its founders, employees, or any attorney listed in the directory. If you engage an attorney through the platform, that relationship is between you and that attorney directly.

Sourced but not guaranteed

Every code section, deadline rule, and plain-language summary on MOFRD is sourced from public legal authority and, where applicable, reviewed by named attorneys with bar numbers and verification dates. However, laws change, courts interpret statutes differently across jurisdictions, and your specific facts may alter which rules apply. MOFRD does not guarantee that the information is current, complete, or applicable to your situation.

Verification, not recommendation

“Verified” on MOFRD means a code summary has been checked against the published state or federal code text it describes and links back to that official source. It does not mean an attorney has reviewed your matter, recommended a course of action, given you legal advice, or agreed to represent you. Optional attorney review, where offered, is a separate service that is clearly labeled as such.

Attorney directory

MOFRD does not rank, assign, recommend, or guarantee attorneys. The directory verifies bar status and practice area. It does not evaluate quality, competence, or suitability for your matter. Attorneys participate voluntarily and set their own terms.

Redaction is a tool, not a guarantee

The redaction-by-default review flags potential PII and PHI using pattern matching. It is designed for high recall (catch as much as possible) with user review. It is not a HIPAA compliance certification. You are responsible for reviewing flagged items before exporting or sharing any matter content.

Deadlines are computed, not guaranteed

Deadline calculations are derived from statutory rules and the key dates you provide. They are informational estimates. Court holidays, jurisdictional variations, and case-specific facts can change actual deadlines. Always confirm critical deadlines with a licensed attorney or the relevant court clerk.

For advice about your matter

For advice about what you should do in your specific situation, consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction. MOFRD can help you prepare for that conversation — but it cannot replace it.
