42 U.S.C. § 254c: Special diabetes programs for type I diabetes

The Secretary, directly or through grants, shall provide for research into the prevention and cure of Type 1 I diabetes. 1 So in original. Probably should not be capitalized. Notwithstanding section 1397dd(a) of this title , from the amounts appropriated in such section for each of fiscal years 1998 through 2002, $30,000,000 is hereby transferred and made available in such fiscal year for grants under this section. $70,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2001 and 2002 (which shall be combined with amounts transferred under paragraph (1) for each such fiscal years); $100,000,000 for fiscal year 2003; $150,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2004 through 2017; $150,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2018 through 2023, to remain available until expended; $155,619,196 for fiscal year 2024, to remain available until expended; $159,228,188 for fiscal year 2025, to remain available until expended; $200,000,000 for fiscal year 2026, to remain available until expended; and $50,410,959 for the period beginning on October 1, 2026 , and ending on December 31, 2026 , to remain available until expended. The Secretary of Health and Human Services shall conduct an evaluation of the diabetes grant programs established under the amendments made by this chapter [chapter 3 (§§ 4921–4923) of subtitle J of title IV of Pub.
