The Speaker, the majority leader, and the minority leader of the House of Representatives are each authorized to employ an administrative assistant, who shall receive basic compensation at a rate not to exceed $8,000 a year. There is authorized to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary for the payment of such compensation. the Speaker of the House; the majority leader of the House; the minority leader of the House; the majority whip of the House; the minority whip of the House; each Member of the House who has served as Speaker of the House; and each Member of the House who has served as majority leader, and as minority leader, of the House.”
