(a) Participation by a teenage parent shall be deferred if the county determines that any of the services an individual is assessed as needing pursuant to Section 11331.7 are not available. (b) Participation by a teenage parent shall be deferred so long as the individual has a special need that directly affects his or her ability to attend school or be successful in earning a high school diploma and the special need cannot be addressed. (c) Participation by a teenage parent shall be deferred after the birth of a child for a period of postpartum recovery as prescribed by a physician.
