District elections shall be conducted in conformance with the Uniform District Election Law (Part 4 (commencing with Section 10500) of Division 10 of the Elections Code) and the laws generally applicable to districts created and operated pursuant to this division, except as follows: (a) As permitted by Section 1304 of the Elections Code, the general district election shall be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of every even-numbered year. (b) As permitted by Section 10555 of the Elections Code, the general district election shall be consolidated with the statewide election in accordance with Part 3 (commencing with Section 10400) of Division 10 of the Elections Code. (c) Those directors whose terms of office expire on the last Friday in June of 1984 shall, instead, continue in their offices until the last Friday in November of 1984, and those directors whose terms of office expire on the last Friday in June of 1986 shall, instead, continue in their offices until the last Friday in November of 1986.
