The multicounty designated transportation planning agency shall convene at least two meetings annually of representatives from each of the four commissions, the agency, and the Department of Transportation for the following purposes: (a) To review and discuss the near-term transportation improvement programs prior to adoption by the commissions. (b) To review and discuss the regional transportation plan prior to adoption by the agency pursuant to Chapter 2.5 (commencing with Section 65080) of Title 7 of the Government Code. (c) To consider progress in the development of a regionwide and unified public transit system. (d) To review and discuss any other matter of mutual concern.
