Of the funds made available by Section 91010, seventy-five million dollars ($75,000,000) shall be available, upon appropriation by the Legislature, to the Natural Resources Agency and the Department of Water Resources for competitive grants for regional conveyance projects or repairs to existing conveyances. Priority shall be given to projects that provide one or more of the following benefits: (a) Improvements in regional or interregional water supply or water supply reliability. (b) Increased groundwater recharge or mitigation of conditions of groundwater overdraft, salinity intrusion, water quality degradation, or subsidence. (c) Adaptation to the impacts of hydrologic changes. (d) Improvements in water security from drought, natural disasters, or other events that could interrupt water supplies. (e) Providing safe drinking water for disadvantaged communities and economically distressed areas.
