(a) The president, director, chief administrative officer, or principal of a school, college, or community college shall be responsible for all public property supplied to a California Cadet Corps unit under their control or supervision and shall ensure the property and equipment is properly secured and cared for. (b) For an independent unit not based at a school or college, the head of the sponsoring organization shall be responsible for state property pursuant to the memorandum of understanding described in Section 500.2.
