(a) The department may provide supplemental funding to residential AIDS shelters in accordance with Section 120810, as long as that section is operative, and to residential care facilities for persons with a chronic, life-threatening illness, that are licensed in accordance with Chapter 3.01 (commencing with Section 1568.01) of Division 2. (b) A residential AIDS shelter that receives a supplemental grant and subsequently is licensed as a residential care facility for persons with a chronic, life-threatening illness prior to the end of the grant period shall be entitled to the full amount of the supplemental grant.
