(b) The state department shall issue an applicant written authority to import into the state any exotic vector upon a determination by the state department that the public health and safety will not be endangered thereby. (c) “Exotic vector” means a vector species that is not native to California and is not commonly found in the state. (d) Any violation of this section is a misdemeanor.
