(a) “Employee” means any officer or other person employed by a county whose compensation is fixed by the board of supervisors or by statute and whose compensation is paid by the county, and any officer or other person employed by any district within the county. (b) “Employee” includes any officer or attaché of any superior court that has been brought within the operation of this chapter. (c) “Employee” includes any officer or other person employed by a district as defined in subdivision (c) of Section 31468 and whose compensation is paid from funds of the district. (d) “Employee” includes any member paid from the county school service fund who elected pursuant to Section 1313 of the Education Code to remain a member of this system. (e) “Employee” includes any person permanently employed by a local agency formation commission including the executive officer thereof.
