(a) “Retirement system” or “this system” means the Public Employees’ Retirement System. (b) As used in this code and in every other statute heretofore or hereafter enacted, or in every contract heretofore or hereafter entered into under any provisions of law, the term “State Employees’ Retirement Law” shall be construed to refer to and mean the “Public Employees’ Retirement Law”; the term “State Employees’ Retirement System” shall be construed to refer to and mean the “Public Employees’ Retirement System”; and the term “State Employees’ Retirement Fund” shall be construed to refer to and mean the “Public Employees’ Retirement Fund.”
