FGC §1950: (a) For purposes of this chapter, “nonvehicular wildlife crossing” means a structure that allows animals to cross human-made barriers safely and includes, but is not limited to, underpasses, tunnels,

(a) For purposes of this chapter, “nonvehicular wildlife crossing” means a structure that allows animals to cross human-made barriers safely and includes, but is not limited to, underpasses, tunnels, viaducts, overpasses, amphibian tunnels, fish ladders, and culverts. Nonvehicular wildlife crossings are primarily habitat conservation and biodiversity projects, but also assist in avoiding collisions between vehicles and animals. (b) The Wildlife Conservation Board may name a nonvehicular wildlife crossing if at least 25 percent of the funding to construct the crossing derives from a state source. (c) The Wildlife Conservation Board shall consult with the Department of Transportation or other appropriate entities on the design of lettering and placement of any sign that displays the name of a nonvehicular wildlife crossing. (d) The Wildlife Conservation Board may adopt criteria for the implementation of this section.
