The trustees may establish facilities for training deaf persons at the campus of the California State University which the trustees shall designate for such purpose. The trustees shall do all of the following: (a) Request the Department of Rehabilitation to refer deaf students to the designated state university. (b) Recognize the designated campus of the California State University as a professional center for training deaf persons and take all action necessary to facilitate the receipt by the campus of state and federal funds.
