(a) The Chancellor of the California Community Colleges shall be responsible for allocating funds for apprenticeship programs in good standing and approved pursuant to Chapter 4 (commencing with Section 3070) of Division 3 of the Labor Code for the secondary education system. (b) Upon an appropriation by the Legislature, the Chancellor of the California Community Colleges shall allocate funds solely for the purposes of this article consistent with the subdivision (e) of Section 8152. (c) For purposes of this article, a “local educational agency” is defined as a school district or a county office of education.
