Each segment of public higher education shall establish, and update as necessary, a written policy concerning students who are called to active military service. The policy shall do all of the following: (a) Ensure that those students do not lose academic credits or degree status. (b) Provide for a refund of fees paid by the student for the term in which he or she was called to active military service.
