(a) The governing board of a school district maintaining a home teaching program, or providing home instruction as authorized by law for pupils with disabilities, may provide home teaching or instruction on Saturday. (b) No pupil shall be required to attend a home teaching program or home instruction on Saturday without the consent of his or her parent or legal guardian.
