Persons in positions requiring certification qualifications may be elected for the next ensuing school year on and after the 15th day of March, and each person so elected shall be deemed reelected from year to year except as provided in Section 35043, Sections 44221 to 44227, inclusive, Sections 44831 to 44891, inclusive, Sections 44893 to 44900, inclusive, Sections 44901 to 44906, inclusive, and Sections 44908 to 44919, inclusive. At any time after the 31st day of December, any person not then employed in the school district may be elected for the next ensuing school year to a position requiring certification qualifications.
