(a) With the exception of those who receive reimbursement for meals only from the state, the State Department of Education shall make allowances to school food authorities and child care food program sponsors for the Child Nutrition Program on a monthly basis. Program providers shall submit claims to the department within 10 calendar days of the end of each month. Claims submitted after 60 calendar days or more from the end of the period for which reimbursement is claimed shall be invalid. Within 45 calendar days of submission of a valid claim, the State Department of Education shall tender reimbursement. (b) For sponsors of those who receive reimbursement for meals only from the state, the State Department of Education shall make allowances for the Child Nutrition Program on an annual basis. Program providers shall submit claims to the department within 10 calendar days of the end of each state fiscal year. Claims submitted after August 20 of the fiscal year immediately following the year for which reimbursement is claimed shall be invalid. Within 45 calendar days of the claim deadline, the State Department of Education shall tender reimbursement.
