(a) The initial payment to a disabled member or member retired for disability shall be paid within 45 days following the date the disability is approved, the effective date of the disability retirement or disability allowance, or receipt of all necessary information, whichever occurs last. Monthly payments shall continue thereafter. Initial payments may be based on a good faith estimated amount pending receipt by the system of all necessary employment, dependent, and other public benefit information. (b) The allowance payable to a disabled member or member retired for disability shall be finalized and a retroactive payment, if one is due, shall be issued within 45 days of receipt by the system of all necessary information.
