Whenever by this code the county superintendent of schools is authorized or required to prepare for, hold, or conduct any election in or for any public school district the county superintendent may contract with the county elections official for the performance under the supervision of the county superintendent of any or all of the duties incident to the preparation for and holding of elections. The governing board of a school district may contract with the county elections official for the performance under the supervision of the governing board of any or all duties incident to the holding or conducting of an election in the district for the issuance and sale of bonds of the district pursuant to Section 15100.
