(a) An orthotist or prosthetist providing services under this chapter shall be required to be certified in orthotics or prosthetics by either the Board for Orthotist Certification or the American Board of Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics. (b) This section shall remain in effect only until the date that the director executes a declaration, that shall be retained by the director, stating that the department has adopted regulations requiring an orthotist or prosthetist to be certified in orthotics or prosthetics by either the Board for Orthotist Certification or the American Board of Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics, as a condition of providing orthotist or prosthetic services under this chapter, and as of that date is repealed.
