(a) A public entity which has received an allocation for funding of an intermodal transfer station pursuant to subdivision (a) of Section 99317 shall, upon request of the department, authorize state-funded bus service to use the station without any charge to the department or its contractors, and shall assist the department in the placement of signs and informational material designed to alert the public to the availability of the state-funded bus service. (b) A public entity shall not be eligible to receive an allocation for funding of an intermodal transfer station pursuant to subdivision (a) of Section 99317 unless it first agrees that, upon any future request of the department, it will authorize a state-funded bus service to use the station without any charge to the department or its contractors and it will assist the department in the placement of signs and informational material designed to alert the public to the availability of the state-funded bus service. (c) For the purpose of this section, “state-funded bus service” means any bus service funded pursuant to Section 99316.
