(a) The director may grant, in trust, an easement, subject to an agreement reached between the department and the County of Santa Cruz, of 420 feet of Aptos Creek Road as it extends northward from Soquel Drive to the County of Santa Cruz for county road purposes, if those uses include access for beach, park, and recreational purposes. (b) The County of Santa Cruz shall use and maintain any lands, and any improvements thereon, that are granted to the county pursuant to subdivision (a).
