PEN §6025.1: (a) Members of the board, with the exception of the Chair of the Board of State and Community Corrections, shall receive no compensation, but shall be reimbursed for their actual and necessary travel

(a) Members of the board, with the exception of the Chair of the Board of State and Community Corrections, shall receive no compensation, but shall be reimbursed for their actual and necessary travel expenses incurred in the performance of their duties. For purposes of compensation, attendance at meetings of the board shall be deemed performance by a member of the duties of his or her state or local governmental employment. (b) For the purposes of Section 1090 of the Government Code, members of a committee created by the board pursuant to Section 6046.3 or a committee created with the primary purpose of administering grant funding from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program (42 U.S.C. Sec. 3751(a)), including a member of the board in his or her capacity as a member of a committee created by the board, have no financial interest in any contract made by the board, including a grant or bond financing transaction, based upon the receipt of compensation for holding public office or public employment. (c) The Chair of the Board of State and Community Corrections shall serve full time. The Department of Human Resources shall fix the compensation of the Chair of the Board of State and Community Corrections. (d) The amendments to this section by the act that added this subdivision are effective for grant awards made by the board on or after July 1, 2016.
