(a) The collection, handling, storage, and management of out-of-service mercury-added thermostats pursuant to this act shall be performed in compliance with this chapter and its implementing regulations. (b) Nothing in this act shall be construed as affecting or modifying a person’s responsibility to otherwise comply with this chapter, including its implementing regulations, with respect to hazardous waste. (c) Except as provided, nothing in this act shall limit or restrict the department’s enforcement authority pursuant to this chapter and its implementing regulations. (d) Notwithstanding any other law, a qualified third party shall not be liable pursuant to this chapter for violations of this act.
