Membership; Appointment; Vacancies; Political Affiliation; Removal (a) The Commission shall consist of five members appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate. (b) The members shall be appointed for terms of five years, except of those who are first appointed, one member shall be appointed for a term of two years, one member shall be appointed for a term of three years, one member shall be appointed for a term of four years, and two member shall be appointed for a term of five years (c) All initial appointments shall be made within 30 days of the effective date of this Chapter. (d) Vacancies shall be filled within 30 days by the Governor, subject to the advice and consent of the Senate, for the unexpired portion of the term in which they occur. (e) No more than three members of the Commission shall be members of the same political party. (f) The Governor may remove any Commissioner upon notification to the Commission and the Secretary of State.
