The coordination, consolidation, merger, or conversion of any court pursuant to this chapter or otherwise shall not of itself cause any reduction in judicial or nonjudicial court employee benefit programs provided or administered by the county pursuant to Chapter 2 (commencing with Section 53200) of Part 1 of Division 2 of Title 5, or pursuant to a memorandum or agreement in effect prior to the effective date of this section. This section does not constitute a change in, but is declaratory of, the existing law. Any reduction or cessation of benefits contrary to this section made between June 30, 1992, and the effective date of this section shall be restored.
