All new elevators in public buildings or facilities after the operative date of the act that amended this section during the first year of the 1979–80 Regular Session shall have braille symbols and marked arabic numerals corresponding to the numerals on the elevator buttons embossed immediately to the left thereof. All new door casings on all elevator floors after the operative date of this section shall have the number of the floor on which the casing is located embossed in braille symbols and marked arabic numerals on both sides at a height of approximately 60 inches from the floor.
