Every state agency, school employer, or contracting agency shall, upon request from the board, provide information on its employees who are not enrolled as members of the system to assist the board to carry out the administration of the system. (a) The information provided under this section shall be submitted in the manner and under the conditions prescribed by the board. (b) Nothing in this section shall be construed to supersede or diminish an employer’s responsibility to determine eligibility or to enroll its qualifying employees in membership. (c) Any information obtained under this section shall be treated as confidential by the system, under the same terms and conditions that apply to information that is confidential pursuant to Section 20230.
