(a) All complaints or relevant information concerning licensees that are within the jurisdiction of the Medical Board of California, the California Board of Podiatric Medicine, the Board of Psychology, or the Physical Therapy Board of California shall be made available to the Health Quality Enforcement Section. (b) The Senior Assistant Attorney General of the Health Quality Enforcement Section shall assign attorneys to work on location at the intake unit of the boards described in subdivision (a) to assist in evaluating and screening complaints and to assist in developing uniform standards and procedures for processing complaints. (c) The Senior Assistant Attorney General or the Senior Assistant Attorney General’s deputy attorneys general shall assist the boards in designing and providing initial and in-service training programs for staff of the boards, including, but not limited to, information collection and investigation. (d) The determination to bring a disciplinary proceeding against a licensee of the boards shall be made by the executive officer of the boards as appropriate in consultation with the senior assistant.
