The Controller shall also prepare a quarterly report on the General Fund comparing state revenues and expenditures for that quarter with the Budget Act, and other expenditures authorized pursuant to statute, in effect during that quarter. Such reports shall be submitted to the Legislature within 30 days after the end of the quarter, unless the Legislature is not in session, in which event the reports shall be submitted to the Joint Legislative Budget Committee. In preparing such quarterly report, the Controller shall consult with all necessary or appropriate public and private agencies, boards, departments and organizations, and all state and local public agencies shall provide any information requested by the Controller.
