Unless the context otherwise requires, the definitions in this section govern the construction of this chapter. (a) “Board” or “board of directors” means the board of directors of a district. (b) “District” means a winegrape pest and disease control district organized pursuant to this chapter. (c) “Owner” includes joint owner, coowner, guardian, executor, administrator, or any other person or entity that holds property in a trust capacity under court appointment. (d) “Winegrape pest and disease” means any pest or disease that is determined by the California Department of Food and Agriculture or the County Agricultural Commissioner to be a threat to the growing or viability of winegrapes, as defined in this section, or as defined in Section 5006. (e) “Winegrapes” means grapes produced that are intended to be converted from their fresh form into grape juice, grape concentrate, wine, or any products thereof, including, but not limited to, high proof and brandy produced from winegrapes. (f) “Winegrape growing acreage” means any parcel of real property with one acre, or more, of winegrape plants, grapes or grape products, regardless of the use of a grape product or products.
