(a) The notification required pursuant to Section 48980 for the parents or guardians of pupils admitted to, or advancing to, grades 11 and 12 shall include information on local apprenticeship programs and preapprenticeship programs as follows: (1) A school district shall use the database of registered program sponsors provided on the internet website of the Department of Industrial Relations’ Division of Apprenticeship Standards. (2) A school district may use contact information contained in the Division of Apprenticeship Standard’s database to obtain information or materials, including, but not limited to, pamphlets or brochures. (b) If a school district maintains an internet website, the school district shall make the Division of Apprenticeship Standards’ database accessible through a direct link on its internet website. (c) The notification sent pursuant to subdivision (a) shall conform to the notification requirements outlined in this article.
