Notwithstanding any other provision of law: (a) All completed audits, including those on appeal, of school districts, charter schools, and county offices of education funded by Item 8860-025-0001 of Section 2.00 of Chapter 50 of the Statutes of 1999, Item 8860-025-0001 of Section 2.00 of Chapter 52 of the Statutes of 2000, and Item 8860-025-0001 of Section 2.00 of Chapter 106 of the Statutes of 2001, and any findings of those audits, are withdrawn, and no loss of apportionment arising from the findings of those audits shall be realized. (b) All audits funded by Item 8860-025-0001 of Section 2.00 of Chapter 50 of the Statutes of 1999, Item 8860-025-0001 of Section 2.00 of Chapter 52 of the Statutes of 2000, and Item 8860-025-0001 of Section 2.00 of Chapter 106 of the Statutes of 2001, shall be discontinued. (c) The Controller shall notify all school districts, charter schools, and county offices of education that it is no longer necessary to retain records supporting pupil attendance and excused absences used for purposes of calculating average daily attendance during the 1996–97 fiscal year.
