(a) A county school facilities fund is hereby established in the county treasury within each county for each school district in the county. (b) The board may from time to time authorize the Controller to transfer any funds that the board may deem necessary from the 1998 State School Facilities Fund, the 2002 State School Facilities Fund, the 2004 State School Facilities Fund, the 2006 State School Facilities Fund, the 2016 State School Facilities Fund, or the 2024 State School Facilities Fund, as the case may be, to the corresponding county fund in the county treasury. Interest on all funds deposited in the county fund shall be retained in that fund. (c) Funds may be expended from the county fund by the recipient school district for qualifying school facilities expenditures set forth in Sections 17072.35 and 17074.25.
