(a) The board may inspect the books, records, and premises of any dentist licensed under this chapter and the licensing documents, records, and premises of any dental assistant permitted under this chapter in response to a complaint that a dentist or dental assistant has violated any law or regulation that constitutes grounds for disciplinary action by the board, and may employ inspectors for this purpose. (b) Failure to allow an inspection or any part thereof shall be grounds for suspension or revocation of the license or permit in accordance with Section 1670.
